NEW DELHI: The e-committee of Supreme Court of India in collaboration with the School of Law, Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) is organising a two-day orientation and computer awareness programme for judges of District Courts in Delhi on February 9 and 10, 2013.
Around 25 to 30 judges from are likely to participate in this workshop. Justice Madan B Lokur, judge, Supreme Court of India and judge-in-charge, e-committee of Supreme Court of India will inaugurate this programme on February 9.
This is a part of the nation-wide programme to orient judges in the use of computers for expeditious justice delivery. During the programme, the major subjects such as change management concepts, basic operating (computer) systems, ubuntu operating system, using libre office writer in ubuntu 12.04-1 and firefox web browser and google search will be discussed.
One of the important features of this workshop is to provide, inter-alia, adequate hands on practice exposure to all the participants in addition to providing practical tips and techniques in all the systems. This
