Power tariff in Delhi 'deliberately' kept high, should be reduced by half: Arvind Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that power tariff in Delhi should be half of what it is at present.

Targeting the Delhi government, Kejriwal said that it has deliberately stopped the DERC's order to reduce power tariff.

Kejriwal alleged that power discoms are making profits but have not passed on the benefits to consumers. Discoms have deliberately kept the power tariff high, Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal said that a case of cheating should be filed against power discoms.

The CAG should conduct an audit of all power discoms in Delhi, Kejriwal demanded.
