The victims - two women and three men - had left their office at 4.30pm and were heading to a coffee shop on Mathura Road in a car when the bikers started following them. They were making rude gestures and passing comments, the victims said. When the car took a turn towards Zakir Hussain Marg, the accused intercepted them by stopping their bikes in front of the car.
When one of the male victims protested, the accused opened the driver's door. The driver tried to accelerate the car but the accused slammed the door on his hand and also snatched his gold ring. The accused also punched him several times in his face and abdomen.
The other accused picked up a rod from the roadside and tried to attack them. One of the victims made a call to the police and the accused fled.
