Over 6 lakh people pledge support to Kejriwal's protest

NEW DELHI: The support for Arvind Kejriwal's protest against inflated electricity bills in the national capital region is growing by the day. On the ninth of Kejriwal's fast, another 1.3 lakh pledged support for the movement taking the total count to 6.6 lakh people.

The Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) plans to send a signed petition to Delhi chief minister once the signatures are collected.

"In the protest letters the people of Delhi have written, "The price of electricity and water has increased many folds in the capital due to corruption of Shiela Dikshit Government and private companies. As the number of Delhi-ites who have decided not to pay their bills swells by the day, the ball is in the court of Shiela Dikshit now. Would she listen to the voice of people who have elected her to power or continue to support private companies?" the letter reads.

Meanwhile, despite weakness, Arvind Kejriwal's health parameters are within normal range. His blood pressure in the morning was 101/63, pulse 65 and sugar 121. He has lost 7 kgs of weight since his fast began. His current weight is 58 kgs. His Ketones report is awaited.
