Two held peddling fake study degrees

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested two persons who used to provide fake certificates of different institutes including All India Shiksha Parishad to gullible students of classes X and XII for Rs 7,000. For those looking for graduation degree, they charged somewhere between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 and, for a fake law degree, they used to charge Rs 1 lakh. One of the accused ran a fake private institute in west Delhi where a lot of students came to study and were easy targets.

Crime branch has recovered nine fake certificates and marksheets of different institutions, one laptop and a printer used for producing the fake certificates and marksheets from the accused. They have been identified as Naresh Kumar (25), a resident of Uttam Nagar, and Vineet Sharma (25), a resident of Najafgarh and an IGNOU graduate. The special investigation team of crime branch, under supervision of additional deputy commissioner of police Kumar Gyanesh, received secret information regarding a racket of fake certificates and marksheets being run byIndraprastha International Polytechnic in Vikaspuri. "We learnt that Vineet Sharma is the director of the institute," additional commissioner of police (crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
