Minor sisters’ rape: 1 held

NEW DELHI: Two minor sisters, aged 13 and 11 years, were allegedly raped by their mother's lover in northwest Delhi, police said. The accused, Rakesh Mishra (35), is a mechanic and has been arrested.

"The man had been staying in the victims' house at Shahbad Dairy in north Delhi for the past one year. He had allegedly raped the sisters several times before," a senior cop said. On Wednesday night, the elder sister informed her neighbour about the incident, who then informed the police.

The girls' medical examination confirmed rape. Mishra, a native of UP, was having illicit relations with the victims' mother, a maid.

"We are verifying whether the mother knew about the assault. Two cases of rape have been filed against Mishra," the cop said.
