On Wednsday at about 10:40 am, head constable B M Babu while on duty at Rajdhani Metro Station, New Delhi noticed an unattended bag at output roller of X-Ray Baggage Inspection System (X-BIS). He immediately informed the matter to the senior CISF officers and the bag was checked for security through X-BIS. The bag was found containing Rs 1,42,750. Later, the bag was deposited with Station Controller. After some time, a person named Sher Singh, resident of Dalpatpura, Neem Kathana, Sikkar, Rajasthan came to the metro station security control room and informed that he had forgotten to collect his bag after security check at XBIS. After proper verification the bag was handed over to the rightful owner.
A day earlier, CISF had apprehended a chain snatcher. On July 16 a complaint was lodged regarding snatching of gold chain outside Malviya Nagar Metro Station by one Gangotri Dhuliya, resident of Uttarakhand at Delhi Metro Rail Police Station Qutab Minar. An FIR was registered following which CISF surveillance and intelligence staff was deputed to follow the suspect. In this regard, CCTV footage was shown to the intelligence staff.
On Tuesday, at about 8:23 pm Head Constable A K Singh, Constable Naresh Kumar and Constable P T Khan of Intelligence Wing of CISF intercepted a person on the basis of suspicion near SBI ATM gate no 3 of Saket Metro station. During investigation, he revealed his name as Shanker, 33, resident of Mehrouli, New Delhi. He accepted that he was involved in the said chain snatching outside Delhi Metro Malviya Nagar Station. The suspected person was handed over to DMRP Qutab Minar for further investigation and legal action.
