2 goons held for kidnap of Delhi realtor

NEW DELHI: Two gangsters who kidnapped a businessman and took a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from his brother have been arrested. The accused, have been identified as Deepak (31) and Ajeet (28) are members of the Karan Pehelwan gang that is notorious for extorting money from businessmen. Police found a country-made pistol and live cartridges on them.

Karan, Deepak and Ajeet allegedly waylaid the businessman, a property dealer named Jaswinder, near Kharbanda Chowk on October 6 after they received information that he would pass that way. The trio forced Jaswinder to sit in their car at gunpoint and took him to Sonia Vihar area. Later, they called up Jaswinder's brother and demanded a ransom of Rs 7 lakh. They, however, let him Jaswinder go on a payment of Rs 5 lakh to Karan. The businessman then filed an FIR at the Shahdara police station.

The Anti-Robbery Cell of the Crime Branch arrested the duo after receivng a tip-off that they would visit swung into action following the complaint and found out from informers that the gangsters would be visiting a temple at Bhairon Marg.
