Bank told to pay Rs 66k to cops

NEW DELHI: Axis Bank has been directed by a consumer forum to pay Rs 66,000 to two special cell officers of Delhi Police for not giving them credit cards despite assuring to do so while opening their accounts.

The New Delhi District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum observed that the bank had "deliberately declined" to grant credit card facilities to the officers, of SHO/inspector rank, despite RBI guidelines and held the bank guilty of "unfair trade practice" . The forum also directed the bank to give them credit cards.
