She was stabbed 12 times in different parts and her neck was slit twice. Another bullet was shot into her chest to ensure death, said a police officer citing the postmortem report that arrived on Friday.
Delhi Police's daylong wait for BSP legislator Choudhary to join the investigations in the murder case ended on Friday night when he arrived at the Welcome police station accompanied by his brother Haji Yunis and their supporters around 8.30pm. Yunis, police said, is one of their prime suspects as he came to Delhi on October 7, after Choudhary left, and claims to have returned on the morning of October 8 — a day before the murder.
Police asked him the reason for his visit and his subsequent whereabouts, which will be corroborated with his mobile location. A police team began questioning the suspects in separate rooms. Choudhary, his brothers Haji Shageer and Haji Yunis, and 2 sons from his first wife, Zaid Alim and Asad Alim, were qusetioned simultaneously.
The MLA was asked about his alleged differences with Rehana and about their dispute over the flat in which she was murdered. A source close to the investigation said Choudhary evaded questions related to the murder.
"He is talking about everything else — his work, family, how much he loved Rehana, but when we ask him specific questions he goes silent," said an investigator. Police asked him whether he wanted to sell the New Jafrabad flat but he answered in the negative. He also denied the rumour that his relationship with Rehana had soured of late.
