He claims three servants - Krishna, Rajkumar and Vijay Mandal - and deceased Hemraj wanted to sexually assault Aarushi after drinks but had a quarrel and Aarushi and Hemraj were killed by rest. Dr Talwar released from jail

January 25, 2011 | Dr Talwar attacked by Utsav Sharma at Ghaziabad court. Utsav protesting against decision to close case. Injured Talwar admitted in private hospital. Talwar files 60-page 'protest petition' in court asking it to 'reject' closure report and 'further investigate the case'. Also asks for 'Touch DNA' test on collected exhibits, including bloody handprints found on terrace, Aarushi's school bag, whisky bottle, key of her room, cellphone and victim's clothes
February 9, 2011 | Special CBI judge Preeti Singh rejects closure report and makes Dr Rajesh and Nupur Talwar accused for murder and destruction of evidence. Grounds include dressing up of crime scene, cleaning of private parts of Aarushi, call made to Noida hospital doctor for not mentioning rape in postmortem report and no possibility of outsider entry
April 11, 2012 | CBI court issues NBWs against Dr Nupur Talwar as she fails to appear
April 30 | After a series of applications, Nupur Talwar surrenders in court, following SC directive, is sent to Dasna Jail
May 2, 2012 | CBI judge Shyam Lal denies bail to Nupur with strong remarks that legal history of the case "replete with instances of matricide, patricide and fratricide"
June 8 | Trial begins in murder case
September 17 | SC grants bail to Nupur
April 16, 2013 | CBI investigating officer AGL Kaul tells court couple killed daughter and servant. Kaul, in over a week-long testimony, claims CBI did not make Dr Talwar and Sushil Chaudhary witnesses in final report filed in December 2010 because they treated them as possible suspects
April 22 | During his cross-examination by defence, Kaul claims he wanted to file chargesheet against Dr Rajesh, Nupur Talwar, Dinesh Talwar and Sushil Chaudhary in December 2010 but his superiors, SP Neelabh Kishore and Jt Director Javed Ahmed, favoured closure report
April 23 | For the first time, Kaul formally tells court the so-called honour killing motive behind Aarushi-Hemraj murders
May 13 | SC asks Talwars to stop wasting time of court. Says can't give adjournment after adjournment October 10: CBI begins final arguments accusing Talwars of the murders
October 24 | Talwars begin their final arguments and claim CBI witnesses have improved statements and CBI theory based on conjectures
November 12 | Final arguments end, judge reserves order on judgement for November 25
