NEW DELHI: With Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal fulfilling his party's promise of providing free supply of 700 litres of water every day for Delhi households, the Delhi government on Tuesday cut power tariff by half, benefiting an estimated 28 lakh households.
Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said the new rates would be applicable to those consuming up to 400 units of power a month.
"They will get 50 per cent subsidy," he said, adding that this would benefit some 28 lakh of the 34 lakh households in Delhi.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal said the CAG has agreed to audit the private power companies.
