Rs 8 crore car heist case: 3 arrested from Mohali

MOHALI: In a midnight joint operation, a team of Delhi special cell and Chandigarh police apprehended three of robbers out of seven, involved in the heist of Rs 8 crore biggest in the national Capital, from the waiting room of a leading private hospital in phase-VIII on Friday night.

Three accused included Praveen Kumar, Tilak Kumar and Guljar Ali had been escaped to Dharamshala in Himachal after committing the alleged heist of Rs 8 crore in Delhi on January 25. Reliable sources told TOI, "Special cell of Delhi Police had tracked down the location of three robbers in Dharamshala and received credible input that the trio will came to the private hospital to meet someone, whose identity yet to establish. Special cell sought the assistance of Chandigarh police."

DSP (operations) Jagbir Singh of UT police said sleuths of joint team deployed in and around the hospital in plain clothes and three of them were apprehended following the identification of an informer, who was accompanied Delhi Police team.

Sources claimed Praveen, one of the robbers, had hired a private taxi to come from Dharamshala and taxi driver was let off after brief questioning. The robber cash belonged to one businessman.
