Hearing in Bhatkal case on March 15

NEW DELHI: A trial court is likely to begin hearing a case against IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal and his aide for allegedly setting up an illegal arms factory in Nangloi, by March 15. Delhi Police has filed a supplementary chargesheet against the duo.

Additional sessions judge Daya Prakash fixed the case for March 15 by which time M S Khan, the lawyer for both the accused, will be provided a copy of the chargesheet and other documents along with the final report.

Both Indian Mujahideen operatives have been named in the chargesheet for offences under sections of the IPC and provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Police had earlier filed its chargesheet against 16 accused, including alleged IM operative Qateel Siddiqui who died in Pune's Yerawada jail on June 8, 2012.

In its supplementary chargesheet, police has allege Bhatkal and Akhtar had set up the arms manufacturing unit in Meer Vihar area in Nangloi, outer Delhi to carry out terrorist activities in the capital and other parts of the country.
