Two burnt to death, 1 hurt in cylinder blast

NEW DELHI: Two men were burnt to death and one was injured in a cylinder blast in Bhajanpura, northeast Delhi, on Saturday evening.

Police said the cylinder blasted after one of the two men failed to notice a leak and lit a match in the room.

The deceased have been identified as Rustam (28) and Irfan (26). The injured, Harender (40), suffered 50% burn injuries and is being treated at a nearby hospital.

Fire officials said they received a call around 4pm about fire at a house in Bhajanpura. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The blaze was soon brought under control.

Meanwhile, a minor fire was also reported from a paper godown near Pragati Maidan. Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
