NEW DELHI: Pro-vice chancellor, Sudhish Pachauri, who has apparently not resigned, has issued a statement. " We got to know about the resignation and came here to meet him and ask him not to take this step. We appeal to the VC not to resign and to the government to take a decision that's favorable for the students and I hope that DU and government will come to a solution amicably," he says.
The dean students' welfare JM Khurana and director, campus of open learning, CS Dubey both came to the VC's residence for the same reason.
What DU authorities are refusing to clarify is whether VC Dinesh Singh has actually resigned and on whose prompting, DU spokesperson Malay Neerav announced the resignation earlier in the afternoon.
