Discoms trying to stall audit: AAP

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday alleged that discoms were trying to scuttle the CAG audit and warned that the party would protest rise in electricity tariff in the capital.

AAP also demanded that the Centre direct the authorities concerned to warn discoms that their "attempts to scuttle the CAG audit will result in cancellation of their licences." "We will protest if DERC goes ahead with its plan to raise tariff without waiting for the findings of the audit," the party said in a statement.

Referring to a letter written by CAG to the lieutenant governor AAP claimed, "It is shocking that top CAG officials haveto remind the LG and Delhi administration about their duty to ensure it is mandatory for discoms to provide all their account books to the auditors."

It further alleged discoms have hatched a conspiracy with "help from BJP and Congress to delay the audit."
