Friend kicks dog, teenager thrashed

NEW DELHI: In another case of assault over a trivial matter, an 18-year-old youth was allegedly beaten up in north Delhi's Burari area for trying to intervene during an argument between his friend and a neighbour. His friend had earlier kicked the neighbour's pet dog which led to the argument.

According to the family members of the injured youth, Sandeep, a group of 10-12 men thrashed him with a stick on Tuesday. "Sandeep was rushed to a hospital where he received stitches. He was admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital but is said to be stable now," said Vasudev, his father, who works as a taxi driver.

On Tuesday, Sandeep's friend Rajkumar had kicked a pet dog which was sitting in front of the house. A police case was registered at Burari police station under sections 308 and 323 IPC.
