Moumita Dutta, who joined the force in 2013, said, "I won't be worried if I'm not carrying a gun with me because they have trained us to use pens, notebooks, belts and even caps as weapons." Pooja Singh, who has been in the force for the last eight years, said, "Even if we get attacked by four people, we will be able to handle it. This is the first time we've received specialised training. When we first saw the demonstration, we weren't sure if we'll be able to complete the training. But it was interesting."
Pooja Rajput, who has been in the force for the last 14 years and is also a weapon training instructor, explained, "The training we received, Pekiti-Tirsia Kali, is being used by armed forces of 30 countries. The focus of this training was to cause minimum possible damage to the opponent. We were trained for three hours, three days a week." Highlighting the importance of safety of commuters in the Metro, HV Chaturvedi, inspector general (North), CISF, said, "Unless commuters have been assured that they are being given the best security and that they are safe, they won't use the Metro. Anyone who can afford `10 can get inside the Metro, so the security has to be really tight." Sharat Sharma, director, operations, DMRC, Mangu Singh, managing director, DMRC, S Devdatta Singh, DIG of police, CISF, and Kanishka Sharma, managing director, Pekiti Tirsia Kali-India — the organisation that trained the women - were also present for the demonstration.
