DU fake admission scam unearthed, three arrested

NEW DELHI: The crime branch of Delhi Police have detected an admission scam in two top DU colleges of south campus. The police have so far found ten students who used different kind of forged certificates like marksheet, physical disability certificate and forged transfer certificates to gain admission this year.

A team led by additional commissioner of police (crime) Ashok Chand, DCP Bhisham Singh and ACP KPS Malhotra carried out the operation and arrested three people in this connection.

One of the arrested person is a former DU student, who had got admitted on fake certificates and then became part of the gang. The accused charged anything between Rs 5-10 lakh from each candidate.

The college, where these fake admissions have taken place has been asked to handover certificates of students. A case of fraud and cheating has been registered.
