6,000 guest teachers for govt schools

NEW DELHI: The directorate of education (DoE) recently inducted more than 6,000 guest teachers to deal with the shortage of teachers in government schools. Around 10,000 more teachers will also join soon.

DoE also said it has initiated direct interaction with principals and teachers in addition to selecting principals to share success stories at open house discussions and starting remedial sessions for those studying in Class IX and above.

Padmini Singla, director, education said DoE is planning to organize an open house at Thyagaraj Stadium this month with all 1,007 heads of government schools to explore the possibilities of replicating best practices adopted by principals.
