ABVP credits fight against FYUP for win

NEW DELHI: The new president of Delhi University Students' Union, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's Mohit Nagar says the 4-0 win is the result of their "relentless fight against FYUP and getting it rolled back."

Kanika Shekhawat, the new secretary, agrees. "The students supported us because we fought FYUP," she says but adds that for the next year it'll be "bus passes and women's safety that'll be the main issues."

Aashutosh Mathur, joint secretary says his win is due to the support of students from "dehat"—the less urbanized parts of Delhi.

Vice-President Parvesh Malik says he'll first distribute feedback forms—like All India Student's Association did—in colleges. "We'll find out what the problems are in each college and take action accordingly," he says.
