BJP trying to poach our leaders: AAP

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of horse trading and said saffron party is trying to 'buy' its MLAs to form government in Delhi.

AAP released a video alleging that Delhi BJP leader Sher Singh Dagar tried to poach one of its MLAs by offering Rs 4 crore.

Responding to AAP's charges, BJP leader Vijender Gupta said all allegations are baseless. "BJP wont but MLAs to form government in Delhi. AAP is going through a crisis," Gupta said.

AAP MLAs and other senior leaders had met President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday to demand fresh elections in the capital. The sudden meeting was organized in view of a letter that lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung reportedly wrote to the President on Thursday, seeking permission to invite BJP to form the government in Delhi.

AAP said it will strongly oppose any move to push BJP into power in Delhi when the rival party does not have a majority. "Both Congress and AAP have refused to support BJP. In Delhi, it is clear that BJP is not in a position to win a confidence vote, except by engineering defections," said AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in a letter he handed over to the President on Saturday.
