Soumya Vishwanathan case accused gets 3-year jail for escape bid

NEW DELHI: The main accused in the murder of journalist Soumya Vishwanathan has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by a trial court in a separate case of trying to escape from custody by throwing chilli powder on cops. Metropolitan magistrate Ashok Kumar awarded the jail term to Ravi Kapoor in a 2009 case for trying to run away from Safdarjung Hospital where he was taken for an X-ray.
