NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, Aam Aadmi Party leaders met mayors of all the three municipal corporations and submitted 2,500 photographs which they had received from people. AAP leaders say there are several areas in Delhi where civic agencies have not yet carried out sanitation drive.

AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh along with other party leaders met the mayors to discuss the sanitation situation in Delhi. "We have received these photographs from people. The municipal corporations should immediately take action. Public participation in the cleanliness drive is important for encouragement and awareness, but the final responsibility to keep Delhi clean is of the civic agency,'' said a spokesperson.

Attack BJP for poor management, AAP leaders said, "Despite being in power for seven years, they have not been able to streamline the sanitation system. But now, there should be a policy of zero tolerance." While mayors assured AAP leaders of prompt action in areas highlighted by them, they said that the three civic agencies have been working overtime to clean up the city. "We have deployed additional staff and pumped in resources to ensure that the drive is a success,'' Yogender Chandolia said.
