NEW DELHI: Expelled AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny on Friday approached Delhi high court seeking damages from AAP and four of its members by way of a defamation suit.

Justice Manmohan Singh issued notice to AAP, its member Alka Lamba and three other party members—Manoj Kumar, Raju Dhinghan and Bandana Kumari—on Binny's defamation suit seeking damages against them for maligning his reputation by their "false defamatory remarks and illegal protests".

"Let them (defendants) also come," the court said, while issuing notice, and listed the matter for further hearing on October 28. Binny has demanded from his erstwhile party punitive damages of one rupee, Rs 50 lakh from Lamba and Rs 50 lakh in sum from the other three party members.

His plea also urges HC to bar AAP and its members from "publishing, republishing, issuing statements in debates or any discussion or reporting or publicizing in any other manner..."
