TOI is first to report the breakthrough and it had exclusively reported on Tuesday that burglars were suspects in this case as a master key, which could open bike locks, had been recovered from the spot indicating the attack could be a handiwork of pettry criminals who also doubled up as vehicle thieves.
The robbed pistol of the slain cop and the auto used in crime has been recovered.
More details are not available yet as the special commissioner of police (law and order) Deepak Mishra is learnt to be addressing a press conference around 2.30pm
Sources said that the quartet were nabbed subsequent to the massive raids and exemplary police pressure put on the criminals of Delhi and NCR which worked wonders and had the Delhi Police crack the case in little over 24 hours.
Special commissioner Deepak Mishra was himself monitoring the probe through the night and taking hourly updates.
In their confession, the accused have said that they panicked as they were being taken to the police station and tried to flee. However, when cornered by the policemen, they opened fire killing constable Jagveer on the spot and injuring constable Narender. Narender later dragged himself to the police station and sought help.

Sources told TOI the police have placed the two men and detained the 2 juveniles under juvenile justice Act and were questioning them further. They have confessed to crime and have been charged with sections of murder, attempt to murder, attacking policemen on duty, Arms Act and other sections.
The police will produce them before the magistrate later in the day and take them on police remand.
