BJP, Congress and AAP have expressed their inability to form government in Delhi, the LG's office said on Monday.
Lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung, who met representatives of the three parties, will send a report to President Pranab Mukherjee.
"LG has conveyed to us that all political parties want fresh elections," Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia said after AAP delegation met the lieutenant governor on Monday evening.
"Our stand remains what it was eight months back that we want fresh polls in Delhi so that people of national capital can once again get cheap electricity, water and good governance," Manish Sisodia said.
The BJP has refused to form a minority government and favours a fresh mandate.
Congress has also demanded immediate dissolution of the assembly to pave way for holding of elections in Delhi at the earliest.
"We have told the Lt Governor that Congress wants fresh elections along with Assembly polls in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir," Congress leader Harun Yusuf said after meeting Jung.
The BJP-Shiromani Akali Dal combine has 29 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly.
The alliance won 32 seats in the December elections, three short of a majority. Since then, three BJP legislators were elected to the Lok Sabha in the general elections.
AAP, the second largest party, has 28 MLAs.
