Doctor confirms MNC executive was raped in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The doctor who had examined the woman executive allegedly raped by a cab driver in December confirmed in a trial court on Wednesday that she had been sexually assaulted. Deposing as a prosecution witness, the doctor of Bara Hindu Rao Hospital submitted that the injuries including several abrasions on the 26-year-old woman's body prove that she was sexually assaulted.

The doctor told ASJ Kaveri Baweja that she had examined the woman on December 6, 2014, and denied the suggestion that she had prepared the medical report at the bidding of the woman. "After examining the patient and upon considering the observation made by me in the MLC report, I can say that the victim was sexually assaulted," the doctor said during cross-examination by accused Shiv Kumar Yadav's counsel.
