Former congress MLA Jai Kishan arrested

NEW DELHI: Former Congress MLA from outer Delhi's Sultanpur Majra constituency, Jai Kishan has been arrested for beating up a group of students and a teacher inside a private school for attending a reality show in Hyderabad without his permission. Police said that the former MLA is the proprietor of the school where the students studied. A case under sections of assault and wrongful confinement has been registered against him.

The incident was reported from the R D Public school on Friday after the assembly hours. Jai Kishan had pulled up a group of 25 students of class 9 and 12 who had gone to attend the program in Hyderabad without his permission along with a music teacher. Jai Kishan lined the students up at the assembly hall and thrashed them using a cane. He also allegedly punched the teacher who had tried to stop him.
Following this the students staged a protest at the school claiming that they had attended the program at their own expenditure. They also informed their parent who reached the school and registered a police complaint. A case under sections 323 IPC (assault) and 341 IPC (wrongful confinement) against Jai Kishan. Police said that he was arrested on Friday evening.
