Flyover death: 3 suspects detained

NEW DELHI: A 44-year-old man, who was found dead on the Geeta colony flyover last Friday with his limbs tied, was reportedly murdered at GB Road. Police suspect at least three people were involved in the murder, including a woman with whom he was having an affair.

The man, identified as Bobby, was a resident of Patiala and had come to Delhi a few years ago. He owned three shops at Kashmere Gate and he was staying at a house at Garstin Bastion Road with a woman. He was heavily into gambling as well. Residents of the area told the investigators that Bobby had been living in the area with a woman for the past few months.

The victim reportedly was in parallel relationships with a few others as well, a police officer said. Sources said that on Tuesday he had won Rs 60,000 in a lottery and told one of his female friends to arrange for a party. He was apparently killed by the woman during the party.

Police said that the woman then hid the body in another room for a day and called her uncle to help her dump it. Later, they roped in a local auto-rickshaw driver and dumped the body at the flyover.

Police found him wearing a shirt and a pair of jeans, but his belongings were missing.A case of murder has been registered at Daryaganj police station and the woman, her uncle and the auto-rickshaw driver have been detained for questioning. Police officers said they suspect the role of others as well.
