Man shot at in Delhi, daughter saved

NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old man was shot at and critically injured after three attackers fired several rounds at him outside his house in Sangam Vihar on Monday night. The man's three-year-old daughter had a close shave as the bullets grazed past her and hit the man who was carrying her on his arms.

The three attackers, including one juvenile boy have been arrested. Police suspect a role of personal rivalry behind this incident.

The incident was reported late on Monday night when Viswambher Kumar was taking stroll outside his house with his daughter. The three attackers came to him and got into an argument with him, during which all of them pulled out pistols and started firing at him. Kumar was hit thrice on his abdomen and chest.

Hearing the shots, the locals managed to chase and catch all three of them. They were thrashed and handed over to the police. Two of them have been identified as Mukesh (23) and Prince (24)

Kumar was rushed to the hospital where his condition was said to be extremely critical. The child too had to under go treatment for injuries but was discharged.

A case of attempt to murder was registered.
