NEW DELHI: Traffic congestion is expected during the day on Saturday near the premises of Thyagraj stadium. The state government's Food and Civil Supply Department is holding a function titled " Annshri Yojna" at Thyagraj Stadium on Saturday from 9.30am to 2pm. This will be attended by beneficiaries of the Yojna and senior government officials.
Traffic cops said that a gathering of about 7000 people is expected. Buses of beneficiaries would be parked on Barapullah and parking space around CGO complex and that of officials would be parked near Vikas Sadan, said officials.
"General traffic movement would be affected on approaches and surroundings of Thyagraj Stadium particularly Safdarjung flyover and its loop on Aurobindo Marg, Gangnath Marg, Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh Marg, Chandu Lal Balmiki Marg and Barapullah elevated corridor," said joint commissioner of police (traffic) Satyendra Garg.
Commuters have been advised by cops to avoid these routes and take alternate routes on Lodhi Road & Fourth Avenue to reach Barapullah elevated corridor and vice versa between 9am to 2pm.
