NEW DELHI: Depressed over marital discord, a 25-year-old girl, pursuing her masters in medicine in AIIMS, committed suicide by consuming poison in her hostel room in the institute premises here, police said on Tuesday.
Keerti Ghakhar, who hailed from Haryana's Bhiwani, was found dead in her room this morning, a senior police official said.
The girl, who was pursuing her first year MD in Pharmacology, was staying in the room along with another student. She was alone last night and her body was found at around 11am on Tuesday.
According to police, the girl was married a year ago and a divorce case was pending in the court.
A sub divisional magistrate-level enquiry has been ordered into the incident, they said.
