Woman immolates herself in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old woman from Jharkhand died after she set herself on fire at the house of his employer here Wednesday, police said.

Savita was working as a maid servant at the house of businessman Shakti Kumar in west Delhi's Kirti Nagar area.

The incident was reported around 6.40am. Savita went to the roof of her employer's house early morning and set herself on fire after pouring kerosene on herself. She was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.

"No suicide note was recovered from the victim's possession. The reason behind her step is yet to be ascertained," said a police officer.
