NEW DELHI: The kingpin of a cash van heist in northeast Delhi was arrested near the Anand Vihar railway station where he had come to meet his accomplice on Wednesday evening. A country-made pistol and five .315 bore cartridges were seized from him.

Harun Pasha (37) had been evading police since August. When he was once caught by local police, he had provided them with a fake identification.

In August, four men in a WagonR, bearing a fake registration number, had robbed Rs 36 lakh from a van which had come to deliver cash at an ATM. Following the heist, three people, Mohammed Azim, Nazim and Nazim's wife, Hina, were arrested, while Harun and Mashroor managed to escape. A reward of Rs 50,000 was declared on their heads.
