Soon, AAP app to report violations

Written By Unknown on Minggu, 17 November 2013 | 22.10

NEW DELHI: Worried about losing precious votes on the last few days to other parties who may resort to illegal distribution of goods among the electorate, the Aam Aadmi Party is not only telling people to watch out for violations of model code of conduct but has also launched a mobile app that will help them record the violations and put it up online.

The app, developed by party volunteers, will help people keep in touch with party activities, connect them to its Twitter and Facebook accounts and provide news and videos. "The 'report to election commission' tab is just one part of the app. The app can be used to click pictures or record a video if someone finds a violation. The app will automatically tag the location of the person through GPRS and send the link to an AAP team. Our team will verify whether it is a violation or not and upload the link on a website, the address of which will be provided to EC," said Dileep Pandey, secretary, Delhi state.

The app was being tested till Saturday evening and was expected to be made available by Saturday night or Sunday morning. "It is a free app, the link to which is available on our social networking profiles. The website on which the violations will be posted is not public yet and only accessible to EC and party members. We are yet to take a final call on that," said an official.
