Congress set to renominate Mahabal Mishra, Ramesh Kumar in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Congress is likely to re-nominate West Delhi and South Delhi MPs Mahabal Mishra and Ramesh Kumar, indicating the party's failure to effect any change of candidates in the capital despite the leadership's bid to present a few fresh faces.

Congress's options were squeezed after it gave tickets to the other five sitting MPs -- Kapil Sibal, Sandeep Dikshit, J P Agarwal, Ajay Maken and Krishna Tirath. Both Mishra and Kumar are influential MPs, the latter due to the clout of his brother Sajjan Kumar.

The likely decision to re-nominate all seven MPs became almost inevitable after Sibal, Dikshit and Tirath got tickets while Maken and Agarwal won their party primaries.
