A book, inspired by Slumdog Millionaire, has found its way to the vice president's residence. Sunrise In Slums, written by Ravindra Rajhans, was released by Vice President Hamid Ansari in the capital recently. An anthology of poems on the lives of underprivileged children, it's been inspired by the Oscar-winning movie.

The ambassadors of France, the Czech Republic and Thailand were among those present, besides Rajhans' son Jyoti Kalash, the commissioner of Nagaland. Rajhans (the pen name of Dr Ravindra Nath Shrivastava), a retired professor of English and a satirist, has also been awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to Hindi literature in the year 2009.
