The cop, Narendra Kumar, was posted in the security wing. He has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him. "An FIR of molestation was registered and he was sent to judicial custody," an officer said.
On Monday, Narendra was returning to his Lodhi Colony house after drinking with friends. He saw the 23-year-old and passed lewd comments at her, police said. When she objected, he allegedly molested her. The woman immediately raised an alarm and later informed the police.
In another case, the joint director of the defence ministry has been arrested for molesting a minor girl, his neighbour, in Rohini on the same day. An FIR was registered against him.
