NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old youth was stabbed to death by three juveniles in southeast Delhi's Jaitpur area on Sunday night.

The accused claimed that they had a fight with Shivam while they were playing at a ground on Sunday evening. Police said the three accused later went to Shivam's shop to settle the dispute and one of them stabbed him.

On Sunday, Shivam asked one of the boys to get him a cigarette. When they refused, he started abusing them and threatened to stop them from playing near his shop.

Later, the boys returned to the shop and had a fight with Shivam during which one of them pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed Shivam multiple times.

Shivam's family members, who live on the floor above the shop, rushed him to a hospital where he died during treatment. A case was registered at Jaitpur police station and the three boys were apprehended. The accused told police that Shivam often threatened them.

The three juveniles were produced before a juvenile justice board on Monday and were sent to a correction home.
