‘Couple posed as parents to kidnap Jahnvi’

NEW DELHI: Jahnvi's family suspects that a couple posing as her parents could have abducted her in their car from the India Gate lawns on September 28. Her mother has told police and TOI on Tuesday that, during conversations, Jahnvi spoke about a car and two people whom she referred to as "Papa-Mummy".

"We could get bits of information from her. She told us she had been in a car with some people whom she kept referring to as papa-mummy," said Sheetal Ahuja, her mother. Her family said that Jahnvi has also spoken about being taken for a walk in the evening by her "new mummy-papa".

Jahnvi will be presented before a Child Welfare Committee team on Wednesday where she will receive counselling. "We have been told by CWC not to ask her anything about the last eight days," Tarun, her uncle, said. Police are now looking for footage of all cameras installed on routes leading to west Delhi. They have also requested IMD and a company which provides satellite images to help them out with images from the spot.
