NEW DELHI: Dussehra celebrations left many roads jammed on Wednesday . The festive rush on the evening rush hours triggered huge snarls in south Delhi areas.
Police said the traffic volume increased due to festivities. Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar, CR Park, Punjabi Bagh, Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, IIT, Ashram, flyovers connecting trans-Yamuna areas and Old Delhi were the worst hit.

Traffic on Ho Chi Minh Marg also moved at a snail's pace. "The rush for Durga Puja in Chittaranjan Park led to a jam. I have been stuck here for the last 45 minutes although it takes me only a few minutes to cross this stretch. Police should make arrangements," said Nirmal Singh, a commuter. Trucks entering the city worsened the situation later in the day.Driving on Thursday is likely to be difficult. Traffic near Ramlila Maidan and adjoining roads, such as Ranjit Singh Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg will be affected.
