Confirming the arrest of of the driver Shiv Kumar, Delhi Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said a team of Delhi Police apprehended the alleged rapist in the Uttar Pradesh city.
After failing to get any clues about the suspect's whereabouts, Delhi Police announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to anyone giving information leading to his arrest just hours before he was apprehended.

To apprehend the 32-year-old alleged rapist, Delhi Police carried out several raids in Delhi, UP and Haryana.
Earlier on Sunday, another person thought to be Shiv Kumar was detained in Mathura. However, after investigations, Delhi Police said that the person was not the accused.
A 25-year-old executive working for a global company was raped by a driver working with Uber, a US-based ride sharing service, when she was returning from a party in Vasant Vihar in south Delhi to her home in Inderlok in north Delhi on Friday night.

The woman works with a global tax and advisory service consultants based in Gurgaon. The incident took place between 11pm and 12.45am inside the Swift Dzire cab (DL 1YB 791*) she had booked through a mobile app.
Notice to the cab company
Delhi Police has issued a notice to the cab company Uber asking it to be a part of the investigation. The American company has been given time till Monday for the same.
