30-year-old alleges rape by policeman

NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old woman has alleged she was raped by a policeman inside her house in outer Delhi's Alipur area on Wednesday night. The accused has been identified as head constable posted with the disaster management wing of Rohini police station. He is also a relative of the woman, police said. "They are from Uttar Pradesh and visited each other's house in Narela often," said an officer.

In her complaint, the woman told police that the cop came to her house around 10pm on Wednesday on the pretext of discussing a family matter. She said that he tried to force himself on her.

The woman also told police that he had forced himself on her several times in the past and used to threaten her with dire consequences whenever she objected. The constable, however, has been absconding since Wednesday.
