Left parties protest against Land ordinance bill, traffic chokes

NEW DELHI: Traffic in parts of Lutyen's Delhi was stalled for hours due to a protest rally by the Left Parties at the Jantar Mantar on Friday morning. Traffic officials say that protesters marched towards the venue through the busy Connaught Place outer circle leading to snarls near the Parliament street which later trailed back to the Minto Road and Barakhamba road all the way upto ITO.

A traffic official said that they had deployed personnel around the Lutyen's zone to ease the traffic pressure. The parties have been requested to ask their supporters to walk on a single lane towards the protest venue so that the others can be left free for traffic movement.
