Delhi elections 2015: Ajay Maken says Rahul Gandhi knows pulse of IndiaÂ

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Ajay Maken on Thursday expressed his full confidence in the leadership of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and said that Rahul is not only a visionary but has all the credentials to take the country forward.

Replying to questions on TOI hangout from readers, Ajay Maken said that once the dust from the excitement of current elections is settled, people will see the true potential of the Congress vice-president, and people will appreciate it.

'' I am sure in Rahul Gandhi, we have a visionary leader, who knows what is good for the country. And once the dust is settled, after the hungama of this election, people will see the true Rahul Gandhi, and people will appreciate him,'' said Maken.

Talking about the commitment of the party towards decentralization and upliftment of the common man, Maken praised Rahul Gandhi for his commitment towards these ideals.

'' I have not seen more good intentioned person than Rahul Gandhi. He thinks about decentralization of the power to the workers. He says that why there should be a high command culture, why the decisions can't be taken at the grassroot level. He thinks that unless you democratise the party, party won't be built. He is very passionate about the ideals of the Congress party, the ideology of the Congress party,'' Ajay Maken said.

Maken gave credit to Rahul's ability to connect to the roots of the country. According to him, he is a person who knows the pulse of the country, and is in touch with the best minds of the nation.

''I have come across Rahul Gandhi as a person who has knowledge of varied subjects at the lowest level. He has indepth knowledge on everything. You talk him about foreign policy, he has more knowledge than an expert. You talk him about urban development, he has indepth knowledge. He has been interacting with the best minds in the country for the last ten years or so,'' Maken concluded.
