Police said that at least two people suffered serious injuries.
Three cars that were parked on the road were also damaged in the accident.
The incident was reported at around 11am while a concrete block holding a joint was being hauled by a crane.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the straps holding the block snapped.
The injured have been rushed to a hospital in the area and a team of fire tenders and disaster management officials have been rushed to the spot.
Police are looking for the contractor of the site who fled after the incident.
A case of negligence has been registered at the Mangolpuri police station.
