NEW DELHI: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Monday directed finance and power departments to immediately send proposals for reduction of electricity tariffs by half.

Earlier, the AAP government also said that there will be no more demolition of illegal buildings in the national capital.

The decision to stop demolition was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

It was not yet clear till what time this order will be in force.

The AAP government of Delhi also wrote to the director general of the Home Guards and instructed him to prepare a road map for deploying home guards in DTC buses as marshals to ensure passenger security.

The letter was sent after the AAP government held its first cabinet meeting on Monday.

Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has reportedly instructed all government departments to give presentations to him this week on how they would implement the AAP's action plan.

The first session of the new Delhi assembly is scheduled for February 23-24.
