Once again, Manna Dey's 'Insaan' song on lips

NEW DELHI: It was yesterday once more as Arvind Kejriwal, yet again burst into his sore-throated rendition of the 1959 Manna Dey song 'Insaan Ka Insaan Se Ho Bhaichara'. At the oath-taking ceremony in December 2013, when he was first sworn-in as CM, he had sung the same song.

Having culminated his speech, where he spoke about learning lessons from his previous stint, he thought it fit to issue a warning before launching into song. "I'm warning you, I'm not a very good singer," he had said.

The song was written by Pradeep and composed by C Ramchandra for 'Paigham', a film directed by S S Vasan of Gemini Studios. The film was the second biggest hit of 1959, according to boxofficeindia.com.

The start of the song marked the end of the program, as many in the audience began to get up and file out of the venue. Some stayed back and hummed along.
